Creative Inspiration with a Colour Combination

Here's this month's colour combination:

And here's the project it inspired:

Soft pastel shades are perfect for a birthday card, and the Birthday Treats Mix & Match Ephemera Pack provides some pretty die cut elements that speed up the creative process.

A stitched banner shape was die cut from Basic White Cardstock using the die from the Birthday Celebration Dies. The pink layered cake element from the The Birthday Treats Mix & Match Ephemera Pack was adhered to the left-hand side of the die cut using Stampin' Dimensionals. Colour was added to the candles element from the same ephemera pack using the light Pool Party and Lemon Lolly Blends. The candles were added to the top of the cake, and leaves (cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock using the die from the Birthday Celebration Dies) and flowers (cut from Bubble Bath Cardstock using the die from the same set) added at the base of the candles. The "happy" sentiment from the coordinating Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set was stamped using Bubble Bath Classic Stampin' Ink in the top right corner of the banner shape. The script "birthday" sentiment from the same set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Bubble bath ink, carefully cut out using Paper Snips, and adhered across the cake and banner element using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The completed focal element was adhered to the die cut lattice rectangle from the ephemera pack, which was then layered to the lighter side of a 3¾" x 5¼" rectangle of Two-Tone Bubble Bath Cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals.

A rectangle (4¼" x 5½") of the dotted Soft Seafoam patterned paper from the Wildflower Birthday 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper was adhered to a folded Basic White card base, and the completed panel added to the card front. Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels were added as embellishments.

Creative Inspiration with a Sketch

Here's this month's sketch:

And here's the project it inspired:

Natural textures and a neutral colour palette are combined in this elegant card design, featuring products from the Online Exclusive Botanical Textures Suite Collection.

A rectangle of the linen patterned paper from the Woven Textures 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper measuring 1¾" x 5" was stamped multiple times with the smaller foliage image from the Textured Notes Cling Stamp Set using Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Ink. The stamped DSP was then adhered to the left-hand side of a folded Crumb Cake card base.

The woven circle image from the Textured Notes set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock, again using Crumb Cake ink, and cut out using a 2" Circle Punch. The larger foliage image from the same stamp set was stamped twice on Basic White Cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink, and both images carefully cut out using Paper Snips. The circle and foliage elements were adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment, again from the same stamp set, was stamped on a strip of Basic White Cardstock (measuring ½" x 3½") using Early Espresso ink. A slightly longer length of Basic Beige ⅜" (1 cm) Bordered Ribbon was adhered behind the bottom half of the stamped strip. The completed sentiment element was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. Earth Tones Shimmer Gems (in Crumb Cake) were added as additional embellishments.
