Expressions in Ink Card Tutorial

The Annual Catalogue Inspiration

EXPRESSIONS IN INK SUITE

The Expressions in Ink suite is so gorgeous that it has a well-deserved place on the front cover of the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. This suite combines the abstract beauty, fluid design, and bold colours of alcohol inks and watercolor, without any of the mess! The gold embellishments and accents add the perfect touch of elegance to this artistically inspired suite.

The card tutorial below features heat embossing, paper-piecing, and layer upon layer of texture and detail. It's a great way to combine the watercolor images with the coordinating, but not matching, detailed die cuts. Just imagine all the colours you could re-create this project in for occasions like birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.

new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue!

Spring is blooming with fresh new colors and so is the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue! I know I've been through the new catalogue a number of times, and each time I find another idea, colour combination, stamp set, or embellishment that I hadn't noticed before. It's like a creative game of hide n' seek!

In addition to the excitement of the new catalogue, we have two amazing promotions that make it extra-rewarding to host or join! Be sure to check them out and contact me to host, join, or get your very own catalogue!

This month's Colour Inspiration combines three new In Colors to create cards that are perfect for spring. One card is whimsical and one is elegant. It still amazes me how you can create cards with a completely different feel using the same colours. Which one is more your style?

Tutorial Well Suited Suite - Helen Piaskowski

Have you had a chance to dive in and explore the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue?  It's full of so many great new products and tons of ideas to spark your creativity.

One of the things I like to do when I get a new catalogue is look at how the new stamps and accessories can be combined with what I already have. It just expands the creative opportunities and helps to see the old in a new light!

The tutorial I'm sharing this month does just that. It combines new In Colors and the new Tailor Made Tags Dies with the Well Suited Suite from the January-June Mini Catalogue. I think you'll love the result!

Well Suited & Tailor Made Father's Day

Project Inspiration
Suits and tailors go hand in hand, so it seems like the perfect match to combine the stamps and dies from the Well Suited Suite with the new Tailor Made dies.

As much as I love the Well Suited Designer Series Paper (#154562), I couldn't resist breaking out the new 2021-2023 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment for this card.

Whichever paper you choose, Dads will love this card for Father's Day and birthdays!
Project - Step 1

1. Cut Paper

Cut Gray Granite cardstock to 3" x 4". Cut another piece to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Cut Basic Black cardstock to 4" x 5-1/4". Cut Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper to 3-3/4" x 5".x
Project - Step 2

2. Add Layers

Score 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Gray Granite cardstock at 4-1/4" along 8-1/2" side. Adhere the Basic Black cardstock and Evening Evergreen paper to card front.
Project - Step 3

3. Stamp Bow Tie

Stamp the bow tie image once on Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Clean the stamp and then randomly stamp the bow tie image all over the 3" x 4" Gray Granite cardstock with Gray Granite ink.
Project - Step 4

4. Stamp & Die Cut

Stamp Father's Day or birthday greeting on Basic White cardstock with Evening Evergreen ink. Die cut with the second largest, square topped Tailor Made Tag die. Die cut scrap Gold Foil with the reinforcement accent die.
Project - Step 5

5. Colour Bow Tie

Colour the Bow Tie, the sample uses the light and dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends. You could colour with Stampin' Write Markers or watercolour, too. Die cut the bow tie with the Suit & Tie Dies or fussy cut the bow tie.
Project - Step 6

6. Add Layers

Cut Gold Foil to 3/4" x 3". Adhere strip about 1/4" from left edge of the stamped 3" x 4" Gray Granite cardstock and then adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Project - Step 7

7. Finish Card

Adhere the Gold Foil tag reinforcement to the tag with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or a Glue Dot. Add tag to card with Stampin' SEAL. Add the bow tie to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
