September Tutorial

It's time to welcome in the Autumn season, so bring on the changing colours, pumpkin spice, and cuddly sweaters! It's the perfect time to cozy up with some stamps and start your fall and holiday crafting. I'm sure you've found plenty to inspire you in the new August-December Mini Catalogue - I know I have!

The Gilded Autumn suite is one of my top-picks for fall. The combination of the Gilded Autumn Specialty Paper with its gold and copper foil and the Autumn Punch Pack that matches the images in the paper give us so many creative possibilities!

It may be easy to overlook the Brushed Metallic Cardstock, which includes copper, bronze, and gold, but it's one you won't want to miss. From accents to embossing, this metallic paper is gorgeous.

World Card Making Day is coming up on October 3rd, so make sure you have your card making stash stocked up and ready for the fun!

This month's tutorial features both the Gilded Autumn Suite and the Brushed Metallic Cardstock so you can "fall" in love with it, too!

Metallic Embossed Gilded Autumn Card

This card uses the Brushed Metallic Cardstock combined with the Gilded Autumn Suite to create a rustic glam style. The lustrous bronze, copper, and gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock (#153524) pieces are given a rustic twist with a natural, wood texture using the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder (#152320).

The Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (#153450) provides a textural layer as well as the leaf and acorn images that are punched out using the trio or punches in the Autumn Punch Pack (#153609).

1. Cut & Emboss

Cut Brushed Metallic Cardstock to 2-1/2" x 3-3/4", 1-3/4" x 3-3/4", 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" one of each color. Sample is dark to light, large to small, but you can arrange in any order. Line up pieces and emboss with Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.

2. Card & Layers

Cut Mint Macaron cardstock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". Score at 4-1/4" along 8-1/2" side. Cut Early Espresso cardstock to 5-1/2" x 4". Adhere centered on card front. Add metallic embossed pieces on Early Espresso layer. Cut herringbone pattern Gilded Autumn paper to 1" x 5-1/2" and adhere across embossed metallic pieces.

3. Inside Card

Cut Very Vanilla cardstock to 5-1/4" x 4" and adhere inside card. Cut herringbone Gilded Autumn paper to 1/2" x 4" and adhere to left edge of Very Vanilla layer.

4. Stamp & Punch Greeting

Stamp greeting from Beautiful Autumn stamp set on Mint Macaron scrap cardstock with Early Espresso ink. Punch with Everyday Label Punch (#144668). Sponge edges with a Stamping Sponge and Early Espresso ink.

5. Ribbon & Greeting

Add Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack Ribbon (#153553). Mint Macaron to 4" and Copper to 4-1/2". Adhere layered together towards the left edge of the herringbone paper with Glue Dots. Add punched greeting centered over ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

6. Punch Leaves

Use the trio or Autumn Punch Pack punches to punch images from the colored acorn and leaf Gilded Autumn paper. Punch out two acorns, and an acorn and maple leaf in both Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze.
