This elegant Christmas card makes use of stamping tone-on-tone and in white to create interesting layers of background texture.

A Night of Navy Cardstock panel was stamped randomly with the various star images from the Stars at Night Photopolymer Stamp set using Night of Navy Classic Ink. The splatter stamp from the Quiet Meadow Cling Stamp Set was stamped in White Craft Ink to add additional texture to the background. This panel was adhered to a Crumb Cake Cardstock mat. A strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock was stamped repeatedly with the line of stars image stamp from the Stars at Night set in Crumb Cake Classic Ink. A triangle was cut from one end of the strip to create the banner end, and the strip adhered to the left hand side of the mounted stamped panel.

A banner was cut from Misty Moonlight Cardstock using the die sized just over 2" wide from the Nested Essentials Dies, and stamped with the grouped trio of stars stamp from the Stars at Night set using White Craft ink. The largest sentiment from the Night Divine Cling Stamp Set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Crumb Cake ink, and cut out using the stitched square die sized just under 2" from the Stylish Shapes Dies. This square was attached to the stamped Misty Moonlight banner. The "joy and peace" sentiment from the Stars at Night set was stamped on a Night of Navy Cardstock strip using Versamark Ink and embossed in white. The right end was cut at an angle, and the sentiment strip added on top of the Basic White stitched square using Stampin' Dimensionals, and the whole element adhered to the stamped card panel.

Using the dies from the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder set, star elements were cut from Gold Foil, Basic White Cardstock, and Adhesive-Backed Gold Glimmer Paper. The large layered element was added to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals, and the smaller embellishments added using Glue Dots. Finally, the whole card front was adhered to a folded Night of Navy Cardstock base.

Why not reach for a modern colour combination and stamp your snowflakes in shades of purple?

First, Highland Heather Classic Ink was applied directly to a panel of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper using a Water Painter to create a soft background, and given time to dry completely. The speckle stamp from the Forever Forest Cling Stamp Set was stamped randomly all over the panel in Pool Party Classic Ink. All three sizes of snowflake contained in the Sparkling Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set were used to finish the panel design. For each snowflake, the solid image was stamped first using Highland Heather Classic Ink, and then the corresponding detailed image was stamped over the top of each solid image using Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink.

The "make the season sparkle" sentiment from the Sparkling Snowflakes set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Gorgeous Grape, and die cut using the label die from the Cheerful Daisies Dies. Stampin' Dimensionals were added to the back of the label, and a short length of White ½" Iridescent Ribbon folded and adhered to the back. The label element was then added to the stamped panel using Stampin' Seal.

The finished panel was added to a Gorgeous Grape Cardstock mat, which was then adhered to a folded Highland Heather card base.
