World Card Making Day

In 2006 Paper Craft magazine named the first Saturday in October as World Card Making Day – a day to celebrate cardmakers!  For todays card I  played with Stampin' Up's  Blackberry Beauty 12 X 12 DSP.  It is the perfect combination of papers to showcase the beauty of fall!

I started by cutting a  sheet of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to use as a card base then glued down a piece of the DSP matted with Gold Metallic Paper.

I was excited to find this was the perfect project to use some Paper Lattice that had just arrived in an order yesterday. It fit perfectly over the DSP!

I gathered my diecuts  and other embellishments together and played with placement till I was happy with the result. I used a retired leaf diecut, but any leaf die will work. I ended up not  using the Maple leaf diecut. I also found some gold ribbon in my stash.

I find it easier to glue down intricate designs by using a craft silicone sheet and sponging the glue to the back of the diecut.

I stamped my sentiment on Basic White cardstock with Blackberry Bliss ink and ran it through my diecutting machine using the Tailor Made Tags dies. I also cut a larger tag of Blackberry Bliss for mounting.

I used black Dimensionals to adhere this to the cardfront.

I hope you have time to spend creating today. And remember, once you finish creating your beautiful cards, let’s not forget to SEND THEM  to brighten someone’s day.
