First, here is the card in the catalogue:
Notice the background? This was accomplished by gluing die cut flowers to the card front.
I started this project by assembling my "ingredients" from the Timeless Tropical Bundle.
First step was to die cut all those tiny flowers:
It didn't take as long as I thought, but thank goodness for my Big Shot Express - no hand cranking for me!
But that was where the fun stopped (for a while at least). I created a big mess trying to glue all those tiny flowers to the front of the card. I found it impossible not to leave a shiny gluey residue on the flowers. I am too embarrassed to show you how it turned out.
Fortunately I had a solution!
I dug through my embossing folders and found a few that would work. This would give the card almost the same look.
Now I was ready to proceed with the rest of the card making. I die cut and watercoloured the larger tropical flowers and stamped the leaves onto a piece of shimmery white cardstock.
I also used my Aqua Painter to splotch some ink onto the cardstock by pressing a clear block into my stamp pad to pick up some colour. Then it was just a matter of layering all my elements together. I also stamped the envelope to coordinate with the overall look of the card.
Here is the finished card. Not what I had in mind when I started, but not too far off! What do you think?
What have you created lately? Had any failures? I'd love to hear about them!
